Germanys Legalization Plan Includes Removing Cannabis From Narcotics Law

TESTSTSARDSAR

Germany’s Legalization Plan Includes Removing Cannabis From Narcotics Law by Johnny Green

Cannabis legalization efforts in Germany received a huge boost yesterday, with the nation’s Health Minister Karl Lauterbach (SPD) making a formal presentation to the federal cabinet regarding the most up-to-date plan for a German adult-use cannabis legalization measure.

The presentation was truly historic, in part due to the fact that it happened in the first place, and also in part due to what was included in the plan itself.

As we previously reported, points from the plan were leaked last week, including some points that yielded significant pushback from the public and even some lawmakers.

Many felt that some of the provisions, especially provisions involving THC percentage limits, were too restrictive. Fortunately, the plan that was presented yesterday by Health Minister Lauterbach addressed many of the components that were largely the focus of negative feedback.

One provision of the current legalization plan in Germany will no doubt prove to be extremely significant if/when it is implemented. Point 5 on page 4 of the Eckpunktepapier contains a key sentence, “Genusscannabis, Medizinalcannabis und Nutzhanf werden vollständig aus dem Anwendungsbereich des BtMG ausgenommen und die jeweiligen rechtlichen Rahmenbedingungen werden in einem gesonderten Gesetz festgelegt.”

That sentence can be translated to English as, “Recreational cannabis, medical cannabis and hemp will be completely removed from the domain of the narcotics law (BtmG) and the individual legal frameworks will be determined in a separate law.”

Minister Lauterbach was specifically asked about this provision of the plan during his presentation to the federal cabinet, as described below:

Obviously, removing cannabis from Germany’s narcotics law would have enormous ramifications, and would affect nearly every aspect of cannabis policy, industry, and research.

The benefits of removing cannabis from Germany’s narcotics law would not only benefit adult-use cannabis efforts; it would also benefit the nation’s emerging medical cannabis patients, program, and industry.

“Regulating cannabis not as a narcotic anymore has extremely positive implications particularly for medical use. This step opens the door to electronic cannabis prescriptions and immediate transfer to the pharmacy which can then ship the medication to patients.

“We are already preparing for a fully digital pathway for patients with 24h between video consultation and cannabis medication delivered to your doorstep,” stated Dr. med. Julian Wichmann, Geschäftsführer/CEO of Algea Care. Algea Care is Germany’s leading platform for therapy with medical cannabis.

“We also expect the conditions for cannabis research to be drastically improved. It will probably also be much easier for academic institutions to obtain national or EU-provided funds for specific research projects, as there will be a rapidly increasing demand for research on both medical and recreational cannabis intake,” Dr. Wichmann went on to say.

How countries have historically classified cannabis, including Germany, has created tremendous hurdles for cannabis research and the emerging cannabis industry.

Removing cannabis from Germany’s narcotics law would provide a compassionate boost to suffering patients all over the country and increase safe access.

That, in turn, makes it extremely tough for patients who are at the mercy of what conditions qualify for medical cannabis and what safe access options they have in their area.

Unfortunately, due to limitations in research many patients are left on the outside looking in. Removing cannabis from Germany’s narcotics law would provide a compassionate boost to suffering patients all over the country and increase safe access.

“Our goal is to make medical cannabis treatment as accessible and seamless for anyone with a medical condition suitable for treatment. Deregulation away from narcotics can facilitate that. Research from the U.S. shows that up to 40% of recreational customers are actually trying to mitigate symptoms but often don’t achieve the results they’re hoping for. The different tax treatment may potentially lead to a situation in which medical cannabis is cheaper than at recreational stores and accessible with a better digital journey,” described Dr. Wichmann.

The discussion regarding cannabis’ classification status is not limited to Germany. The United States is currently ‘examining’ the classification status of cannabis at the federal level, per a recent directive from U.S. President Joe Biden.

However, unlike Germany, the discussion in the United States involves whether cannabis should be descheduled or rescheduled. Germany’s plan seems to have already landed at descheduling, or as it was more properly described by reporter Alfredo Pascual’s tweet embedded above, cannabis is ‘to be removed from the narcotics law,’ which is effectively the same as descheduling.

The significance of what is being proposed in Germany cannot be overstated.

In addition to the expressed desire to remove cannabis from Germany’s narcotics law, it is a welcomed sight to see that home cultivation was not only included in the plan presented yesterday, but also that the home cultivation plant limit was raised from 2 plants that was part of the leaked points last week, up to 3 plants this week.

For perspective, Washington State in the U.S. still prohibits home cultivation for adult-use purposes despite having passed a legalization measure back in 2012.

Illinois and New Jersey also prohibit adult-use home cultivation despite having also passed legalization measures. And all the while cannabis remains prohibited at the federal level in the U.S.

With all of that in mind, the sensible proposal in Germany is great news for consumers, patients, researchers, taxpayers, entrepreneurs, investors, and just about everyone else in German society, whether they consume cannabis or not.

These Terpenes Change Your Mood and Make Cannabis Drinks Taste Great

TESTSTSARDSAR

These Terpenes Change Your Mood and Make Cannabis Drinks Taste Great by Patricia Miller

What are your favorite flavors in a beverage? Perhaps you want something crisp and refreshing with fragrant, fizzy notes that delight the palate and invigorate the senses.

All these sensations are the result of delicate terpenes creating flavor profiles we associate with quenching thirst.

It’s not just preference — it’s science! There are so many tasty terpenes, but which are the most crave-able for creating an irresistible beverage?

Emulsion First, Flavor Second

Terpenes and cannabinoids are not water-soluble. Their oily nature means they don’t play well with water and will separate.

The resulting products aren’t shelf-stable and will likely leave bits of sediment at the bottom of the beverage, or worse yet, leech into the packaging or float on the top.

Choose terpenes and cannabinoids that have already been through an emulsion process, or emulsify your products, so they blend seamlessly into the final beverage.

Fun, Fragrant Flavors

Some of the industry’s best-selling cannabis beverages rely on tried and true flavor profiles. Headset reported one of 2021’s best-selling beverages was Sunset Pink Lemonade from Major.

Terpenes in the “Pink Lemonade” family include limonene, beta-caryophyllene, linalool, and myrcene.

Who doesn’t love Pink Lemonade? It’s fruity, uplifting, a tiny bit tart, with a subtle sweetness to balance it out.

Terpenes in the “Pink Lemonade” family include limonene, beta-caryophyllene, linalool, and myrcene.

Cannabis technology company Eybna specializes in terpene science. It offers a breakdown of each of its signature flavors so producers can see which terpenes create a seemingly simple flavor like Pink Lemonade.

Unlike other drinks, cannabis beverages aren’t popular strictly because they taste appealing. People are buying them for the effects!

This could be another reason why Pink Lemonade is in such high demand. Limonene, beta-caryophyllene, and myrcene are all stimulating terpenes, beloved for their mood-boosting properties.

Research conducted by several terpene providers, including Abstrax and Eybna, determined myrcene has sedative and motor relaxant effects, giving the user a feeling of calm and relaxation.

Familiar Favorites

What pairs better with barbeque pork and a hot summer day than an ice-cold root beer?

Headset reported Keef Cola’s Bubba Kush Root Beer was the third best-selling beverage in the first quarter of 2021.

Its malty sweetness transports you back to grandma’s house, diving into a frothy root beer float.

Headset reported Keef Cola’s Bubba Kush Root Beer was the third best-selling beverage in the first quarter of 2021.

The dominant terpenes in root beer are pinene, myrcene, cymene, and geraniol.

Pinene has a spicy, woody aroma.

Studies with mice have shown pinene to have antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties with some sedative effects.

This relaxing yet spicy terpene is present in OG Kush, which Eybna classified as the “most popular phenotype in the world.”

Cymene is abundant in cumin and thyme oil. It’s valued for its woody notes.

Research on human cells indicates this terpene is anti-inflammatory and has pain-relieving properties.

Geraniol is a versatile terpene. It’s often used in scented candles and hygiene products for its rose-like scent.

It can also reproduce the fruitiness of plum and watermelon. While these notes may be subtle in a flavor like Root Beer, it’s the effects that make this terpene so powerful.

Numerous studies have shown Geraniol to have antifungal and antioxidant qualities. It’s also being studied for its ability to fight cancer cells.

Something for Sipping

Uncle Arnie’s Sweet Peach Iced Tea is another top-selling favorite, according to Headset. Sweet tea is nostalgic, at least for those with some Southern heritage.

Add delicate peach undertones and the result is one of America’s most enduring flavor combinations.

The peach notes are fruity and a bit sour, with heavy concentrations of myrcene and trans-beta-ocimene.

Perfecting a flavor profile that’s so well known can be a challenge.

If everyone knows how it’s supposed to taste, any unusual notes will stand out on the palate.

Terpenes include caryophyllene, limonene, and humulene.

Many of these notes are available in other tea terpene formulations, like Abstrax’s Green Tea Terpene blend.

The peach notes are fruity and a bit sour, with heavy concentrations of myrcene and trans-beta-ocimene.

Caryophyllene brings a peppery element noted to have anti-anxiety effects. It’s also the focus of several studies researching Alzheimer’s and diabetes prevention.

Limonene is, you guessed it, sweet and citrusy. Eybna reports it is one of the most common terpenes in nature and it’s laden with therapeutic effects ranging from antiviral to anti-inflammatory.

Humulene was named after the plant from which it was first extracted, Humulus lupulus, otherwise known as hops.

It’s what gives IPAs their distinctive aroma. It’s also a dominant terpene in the Pineapple Express strain that’s risen in popularity since the debut of the 2008 film of the same name.

An International Taste Sensation

Sometimes it’s not nostalgia or familiarity that generates excitement. Novel flavor pairings entice the adventurous and appeal to more international sensibilities.

CANN Blood Orange Cardamom Social Tonic was the second hottest selling product in America in the first quarter of 2021, reported Headset.

While cardamom may sound like it’s loaded with unique terpenes, it’s actually a common source for extracting limonene terpenes.

Cardamom is a popular flavor in Indian cuisine and is quickly gaining a toehold in U.S. spice cabinets.

While cardamom may sound like it’s loaded with unique terpenes, it’s actually a common source for extracting limonene terpenes.

Limonene helps other terpenes absorb more effectively and is being researched for mood regulation.

Berry Tasty Beverages

One of this author’s favorite flavors is berry. Strawberry, blueberry, raspberry — each is unique but conveys the same floral, fruity, tangy notes associated with “berry” flavor.

Headset reported Ray’s Huckleberry Lemonade was America’s fifth favorite cannabis drink in the first quarter of 2021. Ray’s specializes in lemonades, but this huckleberry version is a top seller.

Ray’s specializes in lemonades, but this huckleberry version is a top seller.

While Ray’s doesn’t offer a terpene breakdown of its flavors, berry-based beverages typically include the following: myrcene, pinene, caryophyllene, limonene, linalool, and humulene.

These terpenes are generally associated with mood elevation, relaxation, and anxiety relief. In today’s turbulent times, it’s no wonder these flavors and effects are in peak demand.

A Toast to Good Taste!

Finding the right flavor profiles for your palate (or your customer’s preferences) can require a lot of sampling and taste tests.

Enjoy the process and take your time so as not to overindulge and spoil the fun. While everyone’s taste buds are unique, the top-selling flavors profiled in this article have risen to the top for good reason.

While these terpene formulations are excellent in beverages, exercise caution before putting flavors into other cannabis products like vape oils.

Many blends are food safe, but not recommended for combustion and inhalation. As with any cannabis product, enjoy responsibly and start slow — you never know how quickly your body will metabolize the compounds.

German Health Minister Leaks Insider Info About Legalization

TESTSTSARDSAR

German Health Minister Leaks Insider Info About Legalization by Johnny Green

Long-awaited key points of a German adult-use legalization plan were made available to Germany’s media community.

The provisions being leaked out there are reportedly from Health Minister Karl Lauterbach (SPD), and are providing tremendous insight into what a finalized coalition plan may look like.

Obviously, there’s still a lot of political lifting to be performed between now and when someone is physically purchasing regulated adult-use cannabis in Germany.

However, this is the first look of its type into what the governing coalition is at the very least strongly considering, if not outright trying to implement.

Last year Germany elected a new coalition government, and after the dust settled on the election results the coalition made it abundantly clear that it was going to pursue adult-use legalization and the launch of a regulated national industry.

To date, only Uruguay, Canada, and Malta have passed a national adult-use measure, and out of the three, only Canada has a regulated adult-use sales system that is open to anyone of legal age regardless of citizenship status.

What Provisions Are Involved?

According to the initial reporting from RND, the legalization components that are involved originated from the Health Ministry, and the plan “is currently being coordinated among the [other] ministries involved,” which is leading many to believe that there still could be some changes made to what is being floated out there.

In this author’s opinion, the provisions were leaked versus announced in order to see what the reactions were from the public and international community, with the possible plan to make tweaks accordingly. That’s just conjecture on my part, but it is a common political communications tactic, particularly with legislation of this magnitude. It’s a great way to gain feedback and insight while also mitigating controversy. With that being said, below are some of the major components involved in today’s news:

  • 18 years old is the legal age to purchase/possess cannabis
  • A 20 gram possession limit
  • Home cultivation of up to 2 plants
  • A 15% THC cap limit on products sold to people over 21
  • A 10% THC cap limit on products sold to people 18-21
  • Retail buffer zones around schools and other specified establishments
  • A general ban on industry advertising
  • Outlets would include, but not be limited to, pharmacies
  • Possibly allowing shops to have ‘consumption options’
  • A possible tax assessment based on THC content
  • All cannabis for the market will be cultivated domestically

“The Federal Ministry of Health did not confirm the RND report on request and referred to ongoing votes in the federal government.

“A Lauterbach spokesman said the departments of health, justice, economy, nutrition and the Federal Foreign Office were working together to implement the coalition agreement.

“Lauterbach had announced a key issues paper for the fall and a draft law for the end of the year,” RND stated in its reporting.

Room for Improvement and Clarification

Here in the United States, where I live, the state-level legal age for cannabis is 21. The legal age in Canada and Uruguay is also 18. Malta, which was the first nation to legalize cannabis for adult use in Europe, also has a legal age of 18, although sales are currently not permitted in Malta.

Allowing industry access to people 18-21 obviously expands the market base, albeit with the apparent potential for a different THC product limit for that subset of customers.

The 20 gram possession limit is considerably greater than what is allowed in Malta away from a person’s home. In Malta, the possession limit away from a person’s home is only 7 grams, although up to 50 grams is allowed within a person’s home, along with up to four plants.

The two plant cultivation limit that is being reported out of Germany is drawing some pushback, as many feel that the limit is too low.

Leaked talking points include the potential for citizens to grow up to two cannabis plants at home.

One thing that could prove to be problematic is the possession limit combined with the plant limit, as even one healthy cannabis plant cultivated in a closet can yield far greater than 20 grams of cannabis.

It seems that more could be done to harmonize the two limits in order to help mitigate any issues for consumers come harvest time.

The retail buffer zones and advertising bans were to be expected, and I certainly think that they will ultimately make it into whatever final version of a legalization model is adopted.

Advertising bans can be tricky to enforce given how many different ways people get their information these days, particularly on the internet, however, we will have to wait and see what enforcement strategies may entail.

The reported THC caps may be the most confusing aspect of what was reported today, in that it seems to be unclear if that will apply to things like vape pen cartridges and cannabis concentrates.

It’s common for products in other legal markets of those types to contain a considerably larger THC percentage than 10-15%. That’s something that will need to be further addressed in a finalized plan.

The German Retail Model is Taking Shape

Arguably the most insightful components of today’s news related to how cannabis will be sourced, sold, and consumed in Germany once a legal, regulated market is launched.

In addition to pharmacies, cannabis would also be sold in dedicated stores, and possibly via the internet, which is currently an option in Canada.

Ever since a push to legalize was announced, many cannabis observers around the world wondered if adult-use cannabis sales would be limited to pharmacies?

If what is being reported today eventually becomes adopted, then the retail options for consumers will be far more robust. In addition to pharmacies, cannabis would also be sold in dedicated stores, and possibly via the internet, which is currently an option in Canada.

Other components that were leaked today could change and evolve. However, the basic sales outlet model provisions are likely to remain the same from a macro perspective.

Again, there’s still a lot of lifting to be done to get something across the finish line, yet I think it’s safe to assume that once legal sales are launched in Germany they will be allowed via a number of different ways beyond just at pharmacies.

Legal social consumption lounges seem to be a very real possibility, too, based on what we have seen today.

The domestic cultivation part also seems to be a component that will be set in stone, at least for the foreseeable future, and the significance of that cannot be overstated.

In order to get around issues with international and continental treaties, it sounds like all cannabis for the adult-use market will need to be produced within Germany’s borders.

That may be completely separate from medical products, which will presumably still be imported in addition to being produced domestically.

The German market will not just involve consumers from Germany. Germany shares more borders with other countries than any other nation in Europe – nine total.

When Germany inevitably launches legal adult-use sales, it will be largely doing so for the entire European continent, as well as for any tourists that will no doubt flock to Germany in record numbers from other continents to partake in the newly established freedoms.

It’s unclear how much German cannabis supply will be needed to match the demand. It’s a safe bet that it’s going to be unlike anything that the legal market has ever seen before, and cultivation licenses within Germany’s borders may become the most sought after cannabis licenses on Earth as a result.

High-Tech Greenhouses Offer a Sustainable Solution for Cannabis Growers

TESTSTSARDSAR

High-Tech Greenhouses Offer a Sustainable Solution for Cannabis Growers by Patricia Miller

Jesús Burrola takes a hands-off approach to farming, but that doesn’t mean he’s disengaged. As chief executive officer for Posibl, he’s leveraging state-of-the-art automation technology to bring smart greenhouses to a nationwide audience.

Posibl’s pesticide-free, climate-controlled greenhouses use less water per pound than traditional indoor grows and are three times more energy efficient.

The company’s motto is, “With good will and great work, anything is Posibl.”

Posibl CEOJesús Burrola. Image courtesy Ben Lalande.

“The business concept behind Posibl was to become an empowerer of brands and set up the best cultivation we possibly could,” Burrola told Cannabis & Tech Today during a recent interview. T

his dedication to quality cultivation enabled Posibl to partner with 15 of the largest cannabis brands in the United States. The company sells under its name and sells its flower to other brands for their labels.

More partners for Posibl means more sustainably-grown flower for customers. Everything Posibl does begins in the greenhouse — a cultivation method that’s less resource-intensive and provides a robust terpene profile thanks to natural sunlight.

Green Tech in Action

Burrola is an ardent supporter of sustainable practices.

“We believe greenhouse cultivation is best,” Burrola said.

“We approached [our business] with the core belief that we would grow indoor-quality flower in a greenhouse setting, in a much more sustainable way, in a more affordable way for the consumer.”

“The business concept behind Posibl was to become an empowerer of brands and set up the best cultivation we possibly could,” Burrola told Cannabis & Tech Today. Image courtesy Ben Lalande.

He believes automation technology is central to making that dream a reality.

Posibl uses sensors throughout its greenhouses to measure humidity, temperature, ventilation, irrigation, and lighting.

All the data is collected and then adjusted automatically to the ideal spectrum for those variables.

“Technology moves at a very fast pace. We have things like AI cameras we’re piloting that can detect pests and diseases faster than the naked eye,” he added.

Location is Everything

It’s not just how the plants are grown, but where Posibl is located that makes sustainable cultivation attainable. California’s fertile soils and warm climate are ideal for cannabis farming.

“We are taking advantage of natural elements, so we don’t supplement light from zero to a hundred. We’re starting with a baseline, using natural sunlight and then supplementing what is left to cover the plant’s ideal needs. That same theory applies to everything else,” Burrola said.

“We’re able to take advantage of good growing conditions naturally and only supplement that through technology and the use of energy when we need to.”

Engineered Resilience

Sustainability is a nuanced term. It can mean “environmentally friendly,” in that the resources required will still be available in the future because thay’ve been used responsibly. It can also refer to how resilient a business is when facing natural disasters or other unforeseen occurrences.

More than 4.5 million homes and businesses lost power during Texas’ February 2021 power crisis.

Yseut Berlingeri-Stambaugh of My Epicurean Farm told the Dallas Morning News she lost 80% of her microgreens during the outage.

Her greenhouse wasn’t equipped to endure 15 hours of single-digit temperatures, despite the propane-powered space heaters she fired up to battle the cold.

Cogeneration, or combined heat and power (CHP) systems, offer farmers an opportunity to be self-reliant.

CHP systems provide heat, cooling, and electricity to greenhouses on-site, facilitating uninterrupted energy production.

According to the Department of Energy, only 11 commercial greenhouses nationwide are using cogeneration units as of 2021. Posibl is one of them.

Posibl uses sensors throughout its greenhouses to measure humidity, temperature, ventilation, irrigation, and lighting. Image courtesy Ben Lalande.

“One of the cool things we are incorporating into this project is energy cogeneration through the use of natural gas,” Burrola said. “Burning natural gas, you’re producing CO2, which we then pump back into the plants.”

The CHP Alliance found that CO2 enrichment as Burrola described can increase crop photosynthesis by as much as 50%.

Little Things Add Up

To add to Posibl’s sustainability mission, it collects drainage from its crops and reintroduces that water into the irrigation cycle.

It does not use pesticides; it treats plants with mint oil or orange peel and uses beneficial bugs to “fight nature with nature,” as Burrola said.

Burrola believes lighting is also the easiest place for growers to start sustainable practices. Greenhouse image courtesy Ben Lalande.

He feels the most challenging aspect of sustainable agriculture is giving crops enough light. Creating top-shelf quality nugs requires more sunlight than nature can provide.

Burrola believes lighting is also the easiest place for growers to start sustainable practices. “Using LEDs as opposed to HPS just makes the use of light and electricity much more efficient,” Burrola said.

He added that while LEDs cost more than HPS, utility companies offer programs that make LEDs more affordable.

It seems growers are more than willing to invest in tech to encourage larger yields.

“Like a lot of traditional crops, you’re operating on 5% margin businesses. I think the fact that it’s such a pricey crop encourages you to invest more on the technology that can produce 4 or 5% more yield makes a huge difference in profit and loss in a cannabis setting,” Burrola said.

Growing Responsibly

Cannabis is a resource-intensive crop. Some researchers estimate it’s responsible for about 1% of electricity usage in the U.S.

But growers are adopting more efficient technology and practices — and it’s starting to show. Politico reported the average energy consumption of indoor grows decreased by more than 20% between 2018 and 2020.

It’s tempting to say technology will save mankind from the climate crisis, or at least delay the inevitable. But it takes more than clever tech to solve the issues facing society.

The solution will come from motivated, caring individuals and corporations committed to creating change. “As the industry matures, we all have a responsibility to make sure we’re growing sustainably and responsibly,” Burrola said.

Cannabis Spray Shows Promise for Cancer Patients With Refractory Pain

TESTSTSARDSAR

Cannabis Spray Shows Promise for Cancer Patients With Refractory Pain by Frank Schuler

One area of cannabis research that is of particular interest to people around the globe, and for obvious reasons, pertains to how the cannabis plant can be used to help people suffering from cancer. It’s one of the most intriguing, and yet also controversial topics in the cannabis world.

A growing body of peer-reviewed research is finding that the cannabis plant can help effectively treat cancer and related symptoms. It is important to differential between the claim that ‘cannabis can help treat cancer’ versus ‘cannabis cures cancer.’

Many personal patient experiences back up the claim that cannabis may cure cancer, in some instances. However, it is a very cruel thing to tell someone that is suffering from cancer that something, cannabis included, will absolutely cure their cancer, guaranteed. After all, nothing is ever guaranteed when it comes to medicine and treatment regimens.

A recent study out of Australia examined a specific cannabis spray to see if it helped treat cancer patients experiencing refractory pain, and the results of the study are encouraging.

More research needs to be conducted, and hopefully one day there is a cure found for cancer, and if the cure does indeed prove to involve cannabis, that would be amazing. Until that time, the cannabis plant can still do other things to help suffering cancer patients, including when it comes to pain management.

A recent study out of Australia examined a specific cannabis spray to see if it helped treat cancer patients experiencing refractory pain, and the results of the study are encouraging. Below is more information about it via a news release from NORML:

New South Wales, Australia: Terminal cancer patients with refractory pain respond favorably to a proprietary cannabis spray containing equal ratios of plant-derived THC and CBD, according to data published in the journal PLOS One.

A team of Australian investigators assessed the safety and efficacy of a novel water-soluble oro-buccal nanoparticle spray containing 2.5 mgs of THC and 2.5 mgs of CBD in a cohort of patients with advanced cancer and intractable pain.

Researchers reported that cannabis dosing was associated with improvements in pain relief among all patients, with those patients suffering from bone metastasis experiencing the greatest levels of relief. No serious adverse events were reported, though some patients did experience drowsiness following treatment.

Patients also reported improvements in appetite and emotional well-being.

“This study demonstrated that the administration of the investigative cannabis-based medicine was generally safe and tolerated in a short-term exposure in a cohort of patients with advanced incurable cancers with controlled pain or intractable pain despite opioid treatment,” authors concluded. “There was a reduction in pain overall for the study cohort of 12 percent by the end of the treatment phase. … [This] cannabis-based medicine … is of significant clinical interest given that this formulation was a self-titrated medicine, that showed preliminary analgesic efficacy in a subgroup of patients.”

Full text of the study, “Pilot clinical and pharmacokinetic study of delat-9-tetrahydrocannabinol/cannabidiol nanoparticle oro-buccal spray in patients with advanced cancer experiencing uncontrolled pain,” appears in PLOS One. Additional information on cannabis for pain mitigation is available from NORML.

Hong Kong Illegalizes CBD Offenders Face Possible Jail Time

On the heels of China’s controversial crackdowns on video games and the ongoing suppression of free speech is a new restriction localized to Hong Kong at the moment, and the target is CBD.

According to a report by the Hong Kong Free Press published today (Fri Oct 21), Hong Kong is going to fully ban cannabidiol, effectively adding the hemp-born compound to “a criminalized list of drugs including heroin and cocaine.”

The list in mention is referred to by the government as the “Dangerous Drugs Ordinance,” which also contains fentanyl, methamphetamine, and roughly 200 other outlawed substances.

The government announced this week that the legislation will be presented to the Legislative Council next Wednesday; the CBD ban is to be officially enacted in February of next year.

Similar to the claims of some anti-hemp state legislatures in the USA, Hong Kong officials are justifying the ban by claiming that CBD is “inseparable from tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC,” per the Hong Kong Free Press report.

Violators of the new legislation, once it is enacted, will be punishable with a maximum fine of $5 million Hong Kong Dollars (about $637,000 USD) and life in prison.

Normally, we call on our own audience, highly active advocacy organizations like the U.S. Hemp Roundtable, and their supporters to fight against such restrictive policies.

However, given the clear jurisdictional issues at play and the scope of the problem, we can only encourage you all to continue raising the volume in support of the wellness-affirming compound in hopes that measures like these will become less common throughout the world.

Competition is thickening in the CBD topical department as industry-leading brands continue to one-up each other, and Elixinol is no exception.

This highly concentrated, botanically enriched powerhouse contains more than a dozen essential oils and extracts, and zero harsh surfactants.

Our team noticed significant improvements not only in post-exercise soreness, but in work-related aches and pains, allowing for a smoother and more productive workday.

How Elixinol Got Started

Based in Westminster, Colorado, Elixinol was founded in 2014 by Paul Denham, who has a 30-year legacy in hemp.

The Elixinol brand is owned by Elixinol Global, a holding company with a hemp-based food company in Australia, as well as an emerging medical cannabis operation also based in the oceanic country.

Elixinol offers broad-spectrum and full-spectrum hemp products, specializing in capsules of many different concentrations and formulations.

What Makes Elixinol Unique?

Elixinol differentiates themselves from other CBD brands in a number of ways, including:

Brand loyalty: VP of Product Marketing Lindsay Topping told us that Elixinol has managed to build brand loyalty in a market where bouncing around from brand to brand has long been the status quo. The Elixinol team attributes this to their quality and testing protocols, research-driven formulations, and more.

Transparency: Elixinol offers detailed, comprehensive certificates of analysis (COAs) that give customers all the information they need to know. Customers can access third-party results directly by scanning QR codes on the products they purchased.

Education: Elixinol has one of the most comprehensive and robust learning platforms that our team has ever seen, covering what CBD is, how it interacts with the body, the difference between hemp extract types and major cannabinoids, and much more. The information is clear, concise, and highly relevant for everyday customers.

Research: Elixinol has partnered with several medical institutions and public-health-focused organizations on studies examining the efficacy of CBD and other cannabinoids for various health challenges. Moreover, they actually use this research to shape their research and development efforts (not just to say they did it).

Our Elixinol Review

As mentioned, we evaluate brands based on six major criteria, each of which are comprised of various subcriteria covering everything from the CBD extraction method to the brand’s involvement in community-level and global philanthropy.

First, let’s start with the all-important issue of product quality.

Quality

Max score = 35 points
Elixinol = 35 points

Far beyond the quality of the ingredients and formulations alone, we measure everything from product packaging to hemp sourcing methods when considering a brand’s overall product quality because all of these factors can affect user experience.

Here’s how Elixinol stacked up in this regard.

Product Quality

Elixinol sources their hemp from partner farms in Colorado that are registered with the state department of agriculture.

They use CO2—the industry gold standard for safety reasons—to extract cannabinoids from the hemp plant.

The CBD oil tinctures, capsules, and topical products we reviewed came in durable and informative packaging.

Each container was housed in a box, and both of these items took full advantage of the space, offering multiple paragraph-long blurbs about CBD, Elixinol, and the intended use of the product as well as basic product information (supplement facts, concentration, warnings, etc.).

Concerning ingredient quality, Elixinol makes use of many supporting botanicals, including turmeric, boswellia, ashwagandha, peppermint essential oil, and the first FDA-approved terpene, beta-caryophyllene.

This colorful palette of plant-based compounds allows Elixinol to offer their many formulation types (especially in capsules), including products to accommodate comfort, sleep disturbances, active lifestyles, stress, and more.

What we didn’t see ingredient-wise was equally as important; there were no artificial sweeteners, fillers, or harsh preservatives of any kind.

Finally, Elixinol provides full-spectrum and broad-spectrum CBD products, which we award full points for in the hemp extract availability subcategory.

Testing and Certification

Both on the website and the packaging, every Elixinol product we could find was linked (QR codes on packaging, links on the site) to a certificate of analysis from highly reputable labs like Botanacor and Eurofins.

With the exception of terpene readouts, these labs provided full-panel testing, reporting on major cannabinoid levels, any toxins detected, residual solvents, and everything else we needed to know.

Elixinol also backs up their products with US Hemp Authority certification and, for one product, USDA Organic certification, two prestigious credentials that are hard to obtain.

Extraction Method

Supercritical CO2 extraction allows manufacturers to cleanly and efficiently remove cannabinoids from the hemp plant biomass, as CO2 is a very human-friendly solvent.

As such, we reserve a 100/100 score for this subcategory only for brands that use CO2, which Elixinol does.

Transparency

Max score = 12.5 points
Elixinol = 10.375 points

Who is leading this brand, where are their products from, what’s in them, and are they backed by lab testing?

This category is all about how easy it is for customers (and reviewers like us) to access vital information like the above.

Info Accessibility

The “About Us” page on Elixinol’s website provides a decent introduction to CBD and the brand’s values, but there are no headshots/bios of company leaders and no specifics (i.e., dates) relating to when the company was founded and how they’ve grown over time.

However, customers can quickly and easily access certificates of analysis on packaging and on the site, which helped the brand recoup a lot of points in this category.

Finally, the product pages do an excellent job conveying all the necessary information and then some—ingredients, general guides, FAQ, etc.—so it’s full marks for product information accessibility.

Supply Chain Transparency

The only two tidbits of information we could exhume relating to Elixinol’s supply chain (where the hemp is grown, where it goes from there, etc.) were that the product is grown in the US and the oil is extracted with CO2 and ethanol.

We don’t expect a super-detailed breakdown of every small step in the supply chain, but it is important for consumers to at least know where/who the farms are, who formulates and packages the products, and so on.

As such, Elixinol took a solid hit for supply chain transparency, but were still able to round out the category with 10.4 out of 12.5 points because of their solid performance in other areas.

Website Experience

Max score = 7.5 points
Elixinol = 7.375 points

Regardless of the product, a well-designed website can convey trustworthiness and authority while making the learning and purchasing experience as seamless as possible, all of which convert to higher brand loyalty in the end.

For these reasons, we prioritize a brand website’s educational resources, mobile responsiveness, and of course, e-commerce experience.

Product Navigation and Purchasing

It was very easy to access product categories and browse Elixinol’s fairly sizable catalog; we rarely had to rely on the “back button” or a tangled mess of filters.

The overall aesthetic is minimalistic and attractive, and on both product category pages as well as individual product pages, a wealth of supplemental information made us feel more confident as we donned the perspective of first-time CBD users.

Overall, the site was responsive on mobile devices, but we made a very small deduction for some minor user interface issues (i.e., scrollable image carousels not responding to swiping properly).

Site Content

In addition to the educational info peppered across product and category pages, Elixinol maintains one of the most well-written and robust information platforms in the business.

Between the “CBD 101” page, the 50+ blog posts, and the FAQ section, all of which are conveniently grouped under the “Learn” section of the Elixinol site, new and veteran CBD users alike can learn something new.

Customer Service

Max Score = 10 points
Elixinol = 9.5 points

Here is an arena where a brand’s actions towards their customers can be held up to their promises, which is why customer service is such a telling indicator of a brand’s overall integrity.

More than just accommodation and responsiveness, it’s also important for the customer experience that a brand provides common support channels (phone, email, chat) and maintains fair shipping and return policies.

Contact Options and Responsiveness

Though Elixinol has phone, email, and live chat services, the live chat isn’t really live—it routes you to a support bot that can either submit a ticket through the email system or direct you to the Elixinol knowledge base.

Still, all three channels we tested were highly responsive and accommodating, so we awarded 90/100 for this ranking factor.

Shipping and Return Policies

The shipping and return policies are fair in that customers are protected with a 30-day, money-back guarantee (and 72 hours for products received damaged), but we made a small deduction here because Elixinol doesn’t reimburse for shipping on returns.

Value

Max score = 10 points
Elixinol = 6.44 points

Some brands can justify charging premiums with their above-and-beyond quality standards, ingredients, etc., which is why we incorporate an “ingredient quality relative to price” factor alongside scoring for raw price.

Our standard practice when scoring raw price for a brand is to find a basic CBD oil tincture, and adjust the closest available concentration to a month’s worth of CBD (1500mg).

Then, we plug the raw price for that month’s supply into a scale we developed after assessing the pricing structure of industry-leading brands.

Pricing and Ingredient Quality

It costs roughly $110 for a month’s supply of Elixinol’s standard CBD oil tincture, which earns 17.5/100 for raw price.

This may seem harsh, but some of our trusted, high-quality brands charge as little as half of this amount.

On the back end, however, we gave Elixinol the maximum possible points for ingredient quality relative to price, since they have botanically enriched, clean ingredient lists every time.

Brand Value

Max score = 25 points
Elixinol = 24.75 points

Finally, this broad category measures a particular brand’s imprint on the CBD industry, their local communities, and the world at large.

This encompasses many efforts that don’t always fit nicely into boxes, so we cast a wide net by awarding credit for the following:

  • Product innovation
  • Community and industry involvement/memberships
  • Participation and/or investment in medical studies
  • Legislative and regulatory activism
  • Supplier oversight (vertical integration?)
  • Institutional knowledge
  • Philanthropy

Product Innovation

Between Elixinol’s synergistic capsules; high-quality oils, gummies, and topicals; and innovative liposome-enhanced formulation; it’s no question that they’ve earned full marks for product innovation.

Community, Research, and Legislative Investment

Elixinol has partnered with Realm of Caring and Johns Hopkins on several studies related to CBD’s effects, earning full points for research investment and participation.

We also default to a full score for community and industry involvement (as well as legislative activism) for members of the US Hemp Roundtable, as this particular association has been instrumental in moving hemp legislation forward.

Regarding supply chain oversight, Elixinol has the maximum amount you can have without owning the hemp production itself, earning 95/100 here.

Institutional knowledge runs deep throughout the leadership team, between Global CEO Oliver Horn’s experience leading major corporations (L’Oreal, Treasury Wine Estates, etc.) and Global R&D Director Beata Silber, PhD, who is a neuropsychology expert with more than a decade of experience in research departments for major companies.

Finally, on the philanthropy side, Elixinol is among the most generous CBD brands when it comes to donating both bulk sums and a percentage of their ongoing sales to various organizations.

The brand donates 5% of every purchase to a non-profit of their customers’ choosing, and their work with Realm of Caring and Leaf411 has taken aim at public health with a pro-CBD lens.

Our Elixinol Overall Rating

All totaled, Elixinol receives a score of 93.44, entering the top tier of brands that score over 90 points.

Here are some key takeaways to sum up our review:

  • Synergistic, research-driven formulations
  • High testing and reporting standards
  • Slightly expensive, but well-priced for the quality
  • Strong brand research, legislation, and philanthropy participation
  • Excellent website experience and customer service

We highly recommend Elixinol for CBD newbies and veterans alike, not just for their high-quality products, but for how well they educate and accommodate their customers.

Elixinol Product Reviews

We tested several of Elixinol’s products across all of their major categories, including the following:

  • Daily Balance CBD Tincture (Winter Mint)
  • Immune Gut Health Capsules
  • Good Night CBD Capsules
  • Stress Less CBD Capsules
  • Body Comfort CBD Capsules
  • Sports Gel

Following are our comprehensive reviews of the products we sampled as broken down by category, starting with oils.

Elixinol CBD Oils Review

Concentration

The broad-spectrum Daily Balance CBD Tincture we sampled came in a 500mg concentration, though it is also available in 133mg, 1000mg, and 4000mg strengths.

Here is the cannabinoid breakdown for our product according to the certificate of analysis:

  • CBD: 21.8mg/g (654mg total)
  • CBN: 0.04mg/g (1.2mg total)
  • CBG: 0.03mg/g (0.9mg total)
  • CBC: 1.0mg/g (30mg total)
  • THC: ND (non-detectable level)

The CBD level is right where we want it (and then some), and the supporting cannabinoid content is right around five percent of the CBD content, which is average as top-tier brands go.

Value

The 500mg Daily Balance CBD Tincture we reviewed retails for $39.99, which reduces to just under $0.08/mg.

Though this price point isn’t outlandish by any means—especially not for a highly reputable brand—it lands just outside of that highly competitive $0.03-$0.06/mg range.

As mentioned in the brand review, Elixinol made up several points on the back end of the price ranking factor for overall quality.

Packaging

The packaging (small box, darkly tinted bottle, and standard dropper lid) was consistent with Elixinol’s other products, which are consistent with the best brands in the industry.

Both box and bottle contained a QR code for easy access to lab reports, the labeling is succinct and highly informative, and the bottle/lid held up throughout our entire use of the product.

Ingredients

Here is the ingredient list for this Daily Balance CBD Tincture: Hemp extract (aerial parts), medium-chain triglyceride coconut oil, steam distilled peppermint essential oil, beta-caryophyllene (BCP).

While still fairly simple and straightforward, the rare addition of both a health-affirming essential oil and an FDA-approved terpene (BCP) bodes very well for the quality of this product.

This is among the most impressive ingredient lists we’ve seen for a “standard” CBD oil tincture.

Flavor

We thoroughly enjoyed the Winter Mint flavor of this broad-spectrum tincture, which somehow almost completely masked the hemp taste without assaulting the palate with extreme mintiness.

This was a smart play for three reasons:

Peppermint oil has various health benefits
It effectively masks the hemp taste while consuming
It leaves you with a pleasant aftertaste as well

Overall, we highly recommend the flavor, and would love to see more products from Elixinol and/or other brands using essential oils as flavoring agents.

Effectiveness

This tincture was moderately effective at reducing stress throughout the day, and when taken in the morning, it helped us wake up and get on with our day earlier (sometimes even skipping the coffee!).

In most cases, we had to take at least 2-3 full droppers (32-48mg) a day to achieve these effects.

Overall, this tincture was as effective as most other standard CBD oils from top-tier brands.

Pros & Cons

Let’s start with the pros for this Daily Balance CBD Tincture:

  • Excellent flavor
  • Above-average botanical support
  • Effective at reducing stress and promoting productivity

And the cons:

  • Slightly expensive

Elixinol Capsules Review

photo

learn more about elixinol cbd capsules

Concentration

All four of the capsules we tried—Immune Gut Health, Good Night, Stress Less, and Body Comfort—came in 15mg/capsule concentrations.

We also kept the unit count consistent at 60, so each product should contain 900mg of CBD.

Here are the CBD, THC, and total supporting (non-THC/CBD) cannabinoid readouts according to the certificates of analysis for these four products (per capsule):

  • Immune Gut Health: CBD = 17.37, delta-9 THC = 0.33mg, supporting cannabinoids = 0.99mg
  • Good Night: CBD = 14.34mg, delta-9 THC = 0.2/mg, supporting cannabinoids = 0.63mg
  • Stress Less: CBD = 13.52mg, delta-9 THC = 0.33mg, supporting cannabinoids = 0.48mg
  • Body Comfort: CBD = 15.62mg, delta-9 THC = 0.36mg, supporting cannabinoids = 0.63mg

Overall, THC levels were well below the legally mandated 0.3% cutoff, and supporting cannabinoid concentration varied between a decent 4-7% range, but the CBD was under-delivered in a couple of cases.

However, the melatonin (Good Night) and ashwagandha (Stress Less) help to make up for this.

Value

All four of these products retail for $64.99, which reduces to $0.07/mg.

As expected, this price point is slightly lower than that of Elixinol’s CBD oil tinctures, but it’s still slightly higher than most.

Once again, when the quality of the clean, synergistic ingredients are taken into account, we still consider these to be well worth the price.

Packaging

All of our capsules came in the same box/container combo, complete with ample supplemental information, basic product info, and a QR code for lab report access.

The lids secured tightly after each use, and the labeling was very helpful.

Simply put, there’s nothing more to ask for here—the packaging is top quality.

Ingredients

Here are the ingredient lists for each product we sampled:

Immune Gut Health: GinfortTM, (Ginger extract, 26% gingeroids, active gingeroids, hemp extract (aerial parts), medium-chain triglyceride coconut oil, vegetarian capsules [hypromellose, purified water, D-sorbitol], silica.

Good Night: Melatonin, hemp extract (from aerial parts), MCT coconut oil, vegetarian capsules [HPMC, purified water, D-sorbitol], silica.

Stress Less: Ashwagandha extract (withania somnifera), hemp extract (from aerial parts), MCT coconut oil, vegetarian capsules [HPMC, purified water, D-sorbitol], silica.

Body Comfort: Boswellia extract (boswellia serrata) (gum resin), hemp extract (from aerial parts), MCT coconut oil, vegetarian capsules [HPMC, purified water, D-sorbitol], silica.

Flavor

With the exception of the immune gut health capsules, all of these products had little to no scent or taste.

The immune gut health capsules didn’t taste of ginger on initial consumption, but we were able to detect faint remnants of ginger flavor about half an hour after consuming.

Overall, there were no major concerns in this department; everything in the scent and flavor department was consistent with CBD capsules from other top-tier brands.

Effectiveness

Even more so than the CBD oil tincture, these capsules all helped with relaxation and stress.

It was difficult to gauge the effect of the Immune Gut Health capsules in our case, both because this benefit is more of a “background application” and because we weren’t experiencing any digestive issues throughout the sampling window.

However, after several consecutive days of taking at least 3 of the Body Comfort capsules, we noticed a decrease in soreness, both after exercise and long bouts of working in a seated position.

Finally, the Good Night capsules helped us to fall asleep faster if we took at least 3 in the evening.

Pros & Cons

Let’s start with the pros:

  • Effective, botanically enhanced formulations
  • Various product options to address wellness challenges
  • Very clean ingredient lists

And now the cons:

  • Slightly lower concentration

Elixinol Topicals Review

photo

learn more about elixinol cbd topicals

Concentration

The Elixinol Sports Gel we sampled provides 1000mg of CBD in a 3.4oz (100ml) bottle.

Considering the majority of topicals stop somewhere between 500-750mg, we consider this broad-spectrum product to be among the stronger CBD topicals on the market.

Here is the cannabinoid breakdown according to the certificate of analysis for our product:

  • CBD = 991mg
  • CBC = 12mg
  • Delta-9 THC = ND (non-detectable level)

Considering the CBD content “falls short” of the label claim by less than one percent, we’ll call it an even 1000mg.

That said, the supporting cannabinoid concentration is a little low, at roughly 1.2% of the CBD concentration.

Overall, the product complies with the THC limit and delivers the CBD as promised.

Value

This product retails for $59.99, which reduces to just under $0.06/mg.

This is where Elixinol starts to climb into a more competitive price range; high-quality topicals typically cost at least $0.08/mg.

Considering the brand behind the product, we consider this particular topical to be an especially strong value.

Packaging

The pump bottle this topical comes in—which is housed in the usual box—is better than most at preventing messy build-up around the opening after a few uses.

As usual, the box and bottle both contain helpful and succinct info in addition to basic product details and a QR code for accessing lab reports.

Ingredients

Here is the ingredient list: Water, SD alcohol, glycerin, aloe barbadensis leaf juice, aminomethyl propanol, arnica montana flower extract, cannabis sativa (hemp) extract, capsicum frutescens resin, carbomer, chamomilla recutita (matricaria) flower extract, cinnamomum camphora (camphor) bark oil, cinnamomum cassia bark extract, citrus grandis (grapefruit) seed extract, cymbopogon schoenanthus oil, eucalyptus globulus leaf oil, hamamelis virginiana (witch hazel) bark/leaf/twig extract, limnanthes alba (meadowfoam) seed oil, mentha piperita (peppermint) oil, rosmarinus officinalis (rosemary) leaf oil.

As expected, this topical contains upwards of a dozen natural oils and extracts, and no harmful preservatives.

There’s no room for critiques here; top marks for high-quality ingredients.

Scent, Texture, and Sensation

As most topical creams and ointments go, this Sports Gel by Elixinol was not very intense in the way of burning and cooling sensations.

We did notice a mild-to-moderate tingling sensation setting in roughly two minutes after application and lasting roughly twenty minutes after the fact.

The gel smelled of mint, pine, and just a touch of citrus.

It was slightly more viscous than average, leaving no drippy residue whatsoever, and massaged nicely into the skin in just a few seconds.

Effectiveness

This product was moderately effective at relieving aches and pains in smaller joints (sore wrists and knuckles) as well as larger application sites (hip and low back), though we have to say it really shines in the first application.

On most days, we were able to keep sore wrists and hands at bay by applying a very small amount of the gel to these areas every two hours or so.

This may not be the ideal product if you’re looking to cover up a nagging issue with intense burning and cooling sensations, but the discomfort relief it provided lasted significantly longer than most.

Pros & Cons

Let’s start with the pros:

  • High concentration
  • Effective at relieving minor discomfort
  • Long-lasting benefits
  • Competitively priced

And now the cons:

  • Milder tingling/cooling sensations

Elixinol Daily Balance Tincture

Easy on the THC (as in, zero) and packed with supporting cannabinoids, this tincture is the best of both worlds.

Elixinol Active Body Comfort Capsules

These innovative CBD capsules are fortified with Boswellia to support joint comfort.

When taking this product between workouts, we found it improved recovery time and soreness.

Like the rest of Elixinol’s catalog, this product is made with safe and natural ingredients.

All Elixinol Products

Elixinol has a moderately sized product selection, offering CBD oils, capsules, and topicals featuring full-spectrum and broad-spectrum extracts.

While they aren’t necessarily the most active brand we’ve seen in terms of frequently updating their catalog, when they do so, they make sure that each carefully curated addition is supported by sound science.

CBD Oils

Elixinol offers five tincture products:

  • Daily Balance: Full-Spectrum
  • Daily Balance: Extra Strength
  • Everyday Broad-Spectrum (THC Free)
  • Everyday Rapid Reset Liposome
  • Sleep Rapid Rest Liposome

Though it isn’t the largest CBD oil tincture selection, Elixinol does an excellent job accommodating a broad audience (THC-free, full-spectrum, sleep and general use).

The Liposomal delivery system used in the Rapid Reset and Rapid Rest “tinctures” is particularly promising in how it greatly enhances the body’s ability to absorb the CBD.

In simple terms, these liposomal tinctures use microscopic bubbles that are compositionally similar to most cells (both are enclosed in a phospholipid bilayer) as a means for delivering the CBD contained therein to tissues it could not reach otherwise.

CBD Capsules

Elixinol has eight CBD capsule products:

  • Daily Balance
  • Daily Balance Extra Strength
  • Sleep Good Night Capsules
  • Active Body Comfort
  • Calm Stress Support
  • Active Omega Turmeric
  • Immune Gut Health
  • Adaptogen Complex

Besides Daily Balance, which is the brand’s standard capsule, each of the other versions contain a special blend of synergistic herbs that are intended to produce a specific benefit, such as relief or relaxation.

The latest addition to the Elixinol product catalog – the Adaptogen Complex – is particularly robust in terms of a botanically supported formulation, considering the use of reishi mushroom, ginseng, gingko and rhodiola rosea.

For anyone unfamiliar with adaptogens, which applies to all four of these ingredients, the term applies to any food and/or compound shown to enhance the body’s ability to “adapt” to stressors of various forms.

CBD Topicals

Elixinol has two CBD topicals:

  • Sports Gel (Broad-Spectrum)
  • Active Recovery Balm (Broad-Spectrum)

The most unique product to Elixinol is the Sports Gel, which has a creamy, gel-like consistency.

CBD Gummies

Elixinol now offers a line of full-spectrum and broad-spectrum hemp gummies in various flavors and targeted applications.

The vegan, THC-free Sleep Gummies contain 15mg and 2mg of CBN per gummy, and come in a blueberry flavor.

The full-spectrum Extra Strength Gummies, also vegan, provide a more potent 25mg of CBD per gummy, and are available in strawberry (naturally flavored).

Conclusion

After completing our review, we concluded that Elixinol is an excellent brand with products that are safe, high-quality, and affordable.

The company is transparent about its entire operation from “seed to sale.”

The hemp is organically grown, the oil is extracted with CO2, and the purity of the products is proven with extensive, comprehensive third-party testing.

As for their products, our team was simply surprised at how affordable Elixinol made each product.

If we had to describe Elixinol in a word, it would simply be: impressive.

After personally testing their products and thoroughly vetting their operation, we are excited to recommend Elixinol.
